Senior School
Friendships Deepen
Self Awareness Grows
Skills and Knowledge Expand
With growing maturity comes expanded rights such as the use of personal devices, access to classrooms during break times, opportunities to leave school grounds with permission, optional sport choices, and more regular class outings. Senior students enjoy a respectful, calm environment where they can get on with their work, spend time with friends, and appreciate the peace that comes from a community that manages itself well.
With these privileges also come expanded responsibilities. Students are expected to use devices reasonably and purposefully, care for shared spaces, maintain respectful relationships with peers and staff, balance academic demands with healthy routines, and make up learning time if they arrive late. Many of the school-wide expectations remain unchanged: maintaining at least 90% attendance, participating in assemblies and festivals, wearing the correct uniform with covered shoes, and using approved communication channels such as school email or designated group chats.
The Senior School marks an important transition where students step into greater independence and increased responsibility.
Senior School Essentials
Academic Pathways
Senior students work toward the HSC, the pathway for this includes the NSW Minimum Standards in reading, writing, and numeracy, All My Own Work plagiarism module, Trial Examinations in Term 3, and sitting the HSC in Term 4 at TVAC. At the end of this students will receive their HSC.
BSG also provides flexible options for students who prefer alternative pathways, including TVET courses, distance learning programs, and school-based apprenticeships.
Learning Focus
The Senior School supports students in identifying strengths and interests, developing meaningful learning goals, and building the capacity to focus even when the future feels uncertain.
Wellbeing Foundations
Routines, rest, time in nature, and spiritual practice all contribute to a balanced school experience. Students are encouraged to make healthy eating and exercise part of daily life, manage their digital time thoughtfully, and reach out for help whenever needed.
